The COVID-19 Pandemic
For the first time in modern history almost the whole world stops at once.
A new coronavirus spreads across every continent within months. Borders, schools and places of worship close, billions are confined at home, and work moves to video calls. Millions die. Yet vaccines using a new technology are developed and tested within a year, a pace previously thought impossible.
