Seder Olama timeline of Jewish history

Put it on your phone

The whole of history, the tree, the map and the weekly portions — with no internet at all, on a plane or on the road. On iPhone and iPad that is the App Store app; on Android and on a computer the site installs itself on your home screen.

iPhone and iPad — from the App Store

Released on 31 August 2026. Free, no advertising, no account. Requires iOS 15 or later.

Open in the App Store

The app still carries the earlier base: it holds a few articles fewer than the site. An update with the full current base is on the way.

iPhone and iPad — without the store

If you would rather not install the app, the site puts itself on the home screen. It must be Safari: iOS will not add to the home screen from other browsers.

  1. Open seder-olam.com in Safari.
  2. Tap Share — the square with an arrow, at the bottom.
  3. Scroll and choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The icon appears among your apps.

Android

  1. Open seder-olam.com in Chrome.
  2. Chrome offers Install app — accept.
  3. If it does not: menu Install app or Add to Home screen.

Questions people ask

Does it really work offline? Yes, after the first visit. The only thing that needs a connection is the “write to the author” form.

Do I need an account? No. No account, no email, no advertising. Notes and progress stay in your own phone.

Why the app rather than the site on the home screen? It keeps everything inside itself more reliably and starts faster. The content is the same, and the site stays free in full.
