Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire
Uniting the steppe tribes, the Mongols build the largest contiguous land empire in history.
A kurultai proclaims Temujin Genghis Khan, ruler of the universe. His army is organised by tens and thousands rather than clans, held by brutal discipline and unmatched cavalry mobility. Within fifty years the Mongols take China, Central Asia, Persia and Rus. Their roads also made caravan travel safe again.
