The Kotzker's son. In his father's last twenty years the rebbe barely came out to people, and it was he who spoke with the chasidim—so the court rested on him already in his father's lifetime.
In 1859, when the Kotzker died, most of the chasidim followed Rabbi Yitzchak Meir—thus Ger began. He stayed in Kotzk with those who stayed, and led the court for fourteen years.
He died on 22 Tammuz 1873 and is buried in Kotzk beside his father. Some reference works place his death in 1893. Three of his sons became rebbes: Rabbi Chaim Yisrael in Pilov, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch in Lomazy and Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua.
