a tractate of the order of Nashim
Divorce in Jewish law is a document handed from hand to hand, and the tractate is occupied with its writing, its messengers, its witnesses and its conditions: a get written wrongly is void, and a woman who relied on it is in trouble. Hence the extreme exactness.
The middle of the tractate holds the famous "tikkun ha-olam": a list of enactments made not because the letter demanded them but because without them life falls out of order—among them Hillel's prozbul. And the Gemara places here the story of Kamtza and Bar Kamtza, which by its account began, with an insult at a feast, the destruction of Jerusalem.
Order: Nashim. There is Gemara in both the Babylonian and the Jerusalem Talmud.
