Tamid תמיד

The tractate argues nothing—it tells the sequence. Where the priests slept, how the lots were cast, who cleared the ashes from the altar, how the gates were opened and whether their creak was heard, how the lamb was slaughtered, how the incense was offered, how the blessing was said over the people.

It ends with a song: which psalm the Levites sang on each day of the week. Those psalms are still said in the synagogue today—"the song of the day". Tamid is the only continuous description of a Temple morning that has come down from eyewitnesses.
