Rabbi Nachum Twersky of Makarov רבי נחום טברסקי ממאקאראוו
founder of the Makarov court; one of Rabbi Mordechai's eight sons
The son of Rabbi Mordechai, named after his grandfather—Rabbi Nachum, with whom Chernobyl began. In the division of 1837 Makarov near Kiev fell to him.
He led the court a short while, fifteen years; he died on 17 Nisan 1852, at forty-seven. The Makarov house was held after him by son and grandson; the last Makarov rebbes perished in the Shoah, and Makarov did not re-establish itself as a separate court.
