Rav Yosef bar Abba took Pumbedita in 4599 (839). He is the namesake of the head of the same academy who sat there in 4574 (814), and they are different men. After him the seat goes to Rav Paltoi bar Abaye, of whom incomparably more is known.
Of the second no more is known than of the first: a name, a year, a seat. All that came down from those three years.
