The first Roman emperor: the end of the civil wars and the founding of the Principate
In his reign a daily offering for the emperor's welfare was brought in the Temple at Jerusalem—a custom whose abolition in 66 CE became the formal beginning of the Great Revolt. He also released the Jews of Rome from having to collect the grain distribution on the Sabbath: if the distribution fell on a Sabbath, they were given theirs on another day.
