Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri הרב יצחק כדורי
head of the Jerusalem kabbalists; a copier and binder of manuscripts
Born in Baghdad. As a child he studied with Rabbi Yosef Chaim—the Ben Ish Chai. Later he learned under Rabbi Yehuda Fetaya, Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer, author of the Kaf HaChaim, Rabbi Ezra Attia and Rabbi Salman Eliyahu.
In 5694 he moved to Jerusalem and worked at the Porat Yosef yeshiva: binding books and copying manuscripts. Menial work—and through it passed the texts he afterwards knew by heart. His memory was spoken of as photographic.
After the death of Rabbi Ephraim HaKohen in 5749 the kabbalists of Jerusalem set him at their head.
On his age. At his death his age was given as anywhere from a hundred and three to a hundred and eight; the year of his birth is disputed to this day. Here it stands as "about 1898," and that is approximate.
He died on 28 Tevet 5766.
