Person
Zechariah זכריה מלך ישראל
king of Israel for six months; the last of the house of Jehu
Zechariah son of Jeroboam II reigned six months. Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against him and killed him "before the people"—openly, not in secret.
With this the word spoken to Jehu was fulfilled: "your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel" (2 Kings 10:30). Zechariah was the fourth: Jehoahaz, Jehoash, Jeroboam, Zechariah. After him the north lived another forty years through five kings, four of whom came to power by murder.
