Son of Rabbi Menachem Nachum. He was born on 2 Kislev 1887.
After his father's death in 1915 the Tolna house went out in branches: three brothers became rebbes in America, and he led the court in New York.
He died on 17 Tishrei 1956, during the intermediate days of Sukkot. His son Rabbi Yochanan moved the court to Jerusalem.
