Rabbi Elisha Halberstam of Gorlice רבי אלישע הלברשטאם מגורליץ

the second rebbe of Gorlice; the last rabbi of the Gorlice community

He was first rabbi of Krosno, and after the death of his father, Rabbi Baruch of Gorlice, in 1906 took the seat of Gorlice, and remained on it as the community's last rabbi.

In the first days of the German invasion he left for Lvov, and from there was exiled to Siberia, where he died on 19 Tishrei 1940.

Two of his sons reached Erets Yisrael—Rabbi Mordechai Dov in Jerusalem and Rabbi Baruch in Bnei Brak; several other children went to America.
