the second rebbe of Amshinov
The son of Rabbi Yaakov David, founder of the Amshinov court. He took the court at eighteen, when his father died in 1877, and led it for about forty years.
Under him the Amshinov manner of prayer became what it is known for: hours of preparation, and the hour of prayer not fitted to the clock. The court went slowly by this and gathered those who needed it.
He died on 15 Kislev 1917 and is buried in Warsaw on Okopowa; later his son and grandson were laid beside him. After him the house went in two branches: the elder son, Rabbi Yosef, stayed in Amshinov, the younger, Rabbi Shimon Sholom, settled in Otwock.
