the second rebbe of Vurka; he was called the silent tsaddik
The younger son of Rabbi Yitzchak of Vurka. When his father died in 1848 the Vurka chasidim divided: some followed the elder brother to Amshinov, some stayed with him in Vurka.
He was called the silent tsaddik. Chasidic tradition speaks of that silence not as a cast of temper but as a way of leading: one who came sat beside him and had his answer without words.
He died on 16 Sivan 1868 in Warsaw and is buried in the Jewish cemetery on Okopowa Street. His son Rabbi Simcha Bunim took the court and moved it to Otwock.
