Naamah נַעֲמָה
sister of Tuval-Kayin; besides Lemech's wives, the only woman named in Cain's genealogy
"...and the sister of Tuval-Kayin was Naamah" (Bereshit 4:22). There the verse ends: the name is given, and that is all.
That her name appears at all is unusual. Genealogies list sons; a daughter named outright and with no issue following is rare in the Torah—and the commentators ask why she is named here.
Bereshit Rabbah 23:3 answers: this is Naamah, the wife of Noach. If so, the line of Cain did not end in the Flood but entered the saved family through her. This is the tradition of the sages, not what the Torah states; the Torah gives no name at all for Noach's wife, and other commentators do not accept the identification.
