Tuval-Kayin תּוּבַל קַיִן
the first smith: "instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron"
"And Tzilah too bore Tuval-Kayin, instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron" (Bereshit 4:22).
His name carries the name of his forefather, Cain—the only name in the chapter that repeats the founder's outright.
The craft the Torah places at his beginning stands two verses away from Lemech's words about spilt blood: working bronze and iron makes tools and makes weapons, and the chapter does not separate them.
The Torah gives no years.
