Rabbi Naftali Trop רבי נפתלי טרופ
rosh yeshiva in Radin under the Chofetz Chaim
In 5663 the Chofetz Chaim called him to head the yeshiva in Radin, and he stayed there until his death—a quarter of a century.
He belonged to the school that came from Reb Chaim of Brisk: to take apart a law not by the weight of opinions but by the structure of the concept itself. It taught his students to think differently.
He hardly published. Chiddushei HaGranat—the collection of his lectures—was gathered from his listeners' notes and appeared in 5749 (1989), sixty years after his death.
He died on 10 Tishrei 5689.
