"And Peleg lived thirty years and begot Reu" (Bereshit 11:18). His lifespan is exactly his father's: two hundred and thirty-nine years for both.
He lived to see Abraham born: Abraham was born in 1948 and Reu died in 2026. In this stretch of the Torah that is ordinary—Abraham's great-grandfathers are alive in his lifetime.
