The Tiferes Shlomo—Rabbi Shlomo HaKohen Rabinowicz of Radomsk רבי שלמה הכהן רבינוביץ מראדומסק — תפארת שלמה

founder of the Radomsk court; the Tiferes Shlomo is one of the widely read chasidic books

Rabbi of Radomsk from 1843; he did not become a chasidic rebbe at once, nor by inheritance—the court gathered around him of itself.

The book. The Tiferes Shlomo is a set of teachings on the portions of the Torah and on the festivals. Of the chasidic books of the nineteenth century it is among the most widely read: the language is clear, the thought is short, and it does not require the reader to belong to that court.

A voice. It is told of him that he prayed loudly and sang, and that melodies of his composing were sung all over Poland.

He died on 29 Adar 1866.
