Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh Alter—the seventh Gerrer Rebbe רבי יעקב אריה אלתר — האדמו״ר השביעי מגור
the seventh rebbe of Ger, from 1996
He was born in Jerusalem in 1939, the son of Rabbi Simcha Bunim Alter. Before his accession he ran Ger's affairs in Jerusalem and stood at the head of the court's institutions.
He took Ger in 1996, after the death of his uncle. Under him the court remains the largest chasidic house in Israel and holds to what it held under the Beis Yisroel: order, a timetable, responsibility for one's place.
This reference speaks of what has been, and does not count what changes today from year to year.
