He was named for his grandfather, the Maggid of Zlotchov; he took the court after the death of his father, Rabbi Moshe of Zvhil, in 1831.
From him the family name Goldman is kept in the line. He left no books of his own, and the sources give no exact date of death—only the year 1856.
His son Rabbi Mordechai took the court.
