Born in Poland, raised in Tel Aviv; he took the court after the death of his father, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, in 1984.
Bnei Brak. He moved the Modzitz court to Bnei Brak: Tel Aviv had emptied of chasidim, and Bnei Brak had become their city. Under him the court stayed what it was—the melody, the Shabbat table, the talk.
His talks are named the Nachalas Dan. He died in 2006; the court was taken by his son.
