Rabbi Asher Perlow of Stolin רבי אשר פערלוב מסטולין
the third rebbe of Karlin; the son of Aharon the Great, the first to sit in Stolin
The son of Rabbi Aharon the Great; the father died when the boy was twelve, and the father’s successor, Rabbi Shlomo of Karlin, raised him. After Rabbi Shlomo’s death in 1792 the Karlin chasidim followed him.
Stolin. He was the first to sit not in Karlin but in Stolin—and from him the house has two names. The sources give his death year as 1826 or 1827; we set the first.
