Rabbi Baruch Hager of Vizhnitz—the Imrei Baruch רבי ברוך הגר מוויזשניץ — אמרי ברוך

the second rebbe of Vizhnitz

The son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel, founder of the Vizhnitz court, and the Ruzhiner’s grandson through his mother. He took Vizhnitz in 1884.

He led the court a short time—nine years—but in that time people began coming to him from all Bukovina and from Maramureș, and Vizhnitz stepped out of the row of local courts.

He died on 20 Kislev 1892, at forty-eight. His teachings are gathered in Imrei Baruch.
