Kedushas Yom Tov—Rabbi Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum of Sighet קדושת יום טוב — רבי חנניה יום טוב ליפא טייטלבוים מסיגט
the third rebbe of the house of Sighet; father of the rebbes of Sighet and Satmar
He took the rabbinate and court of Sighet after the death of his father, Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda, in 1883.
The court. He kept the Sighet court in the father’s spirit—rabbi and rebbe in one, strictness in law, a yeshiva at the court. His talks were published as the Kedushas Yom Tov.
Sons. Two sons: Rabbi Chaim Tzvi, who took Sighet, and Rabbi Yoel, the younger, the future Satmar Rebbe. Both grew up under him.
He died on 29 Shevat 5664 (1904).
