Rabbi Simcha Bunim Kalish of Vurka and Otwock רבי שמחה בונים קאליש מווארקא
the third rebbe of Vurka; he moved the court to Otwock
The son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel and grandson of the founder of Vurka. He took the court at seventeen, when his father died in 1868, and led it for nearly forty years.
From Vurka the court moved to Otwock, a resort town near Warsaw where people came to be treated; by it the rebbe was called the Otwock rebbe. People came to him above all in trouble.
At the end of his life he went up to Erets Yisrael: first Jerusalem, then Tiberias. There he died on 2 Shevat 1907, less than two months after his arrival, and is buried in the old cemetery of Tiberias. His son Rabbi Menachem Mendel took the court in Otwock.
