the second rebbe of the Otwock branch of Amshinov; the Amshinover Rebbe of Jerusalem
Born in 1901 in Otwock, where his father kept the court. In 1940 he fled Poland with his father to Vilna, and from there through Japan and Shanghai to New York—by the same road as the Mir yeshiva.
Jerusalem. After the war he settled in Jerusalem, in Bayit Vegan, and after his father’s death in 1954 the Amshinov chasidim recognised him as rebbe. The court was small and quiet—the Amshinov way, where prayer lasts long and words are few.
He died in 1976. The court was taken by a grandson through his daughter; this reference speaks of what was, and does not count what changes today from year to year.
