Rabbi Yisrael Friedman of Husyatin רבי ישראל פרידמן מהוסיאטין
the second rebbe of Husyatin; the first of the Ruzhin rebbes to move to Eretz Yisrael
The son of Rabbi Mordechai Shraga; he took the court in 1894. The First World War brought him, like the other Ruzhin rebbes, to Vienna.
Tel Aviv. In 1937, at seventy-nine, he moved to Eretz Yisrael and settled in Tel Aviv—the first of the Ruzhin rebbes to do so. The court was small, but not only chasidim came to him: people of the Yishuv far from Chasidut came for counsel too.
He died on 29 Kislev 5710 (December 1949) and is buried in Tiberias. He left no sons; the court was continued by his son-in-law.
