Rabbi Aharon Halberstam of Sanz רבי אהרן הלברשטאם מצאנז

A son of the Divrei Chaim. In his father’s lifetime he was rabbi in Sanz at his side; after the father’s death in 1876 the chasidim divided among the sons, and Sanz itself—the town, the rabbinate, the father’s beit midrash—was taken by him.

The court. The eldest brother, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga, sat in Shinova and was better known; but the Sanz court in Sanz itself was led by Rabbi Aharon, and the Sanz chasidim in the narrow sense are his chasidim. He kept the father’s strictness in law and the father’s generosity to the poor.

He died in 1903.
