the fifth rebbe of Slonim; restored the court in Jerusalem after the Shoah
He was born and raised in Eretz Yisrael, in the Tiberias community of Slonim chasidim: his father, Rabbi Noach Weinberg, was rabbi of Tiberias, and his great-grandfather the Yesod ha-avoda.
The restoration. After Rabbi Shlomo David Yehoshua perished in Slonim the court stood empty for ten years. In 1954 the surviving chasidim of Tiberias and Jerusalem asked him to sit as rebbe; he long refused, and then agreed. The court settled in Jerusalem, at the Beis Avraham yeshiva.
The Birkas Avraham. So his talks are named. He led the court quietly, in the spirit of the fathers: study, prayer, labour over oneself.
He died in 1981; the court was taken by his son-in-law, Rabbi Shalom Noach Berezovsky.
