Rabbi Yechezkel Paneth of Dej—the Knesset Yechezkel רבי יחזקאל פאנעט מדעש — כנסת יחזקאל

the third rebbe of Dej; head of the Dej yeshiva

He studied under his grandfather, the Maaglei Tzedek, and under Rabbi Shlomo Spira of Munkacs. He was born in 1870, the son of Rabbi Moshe Paneth. At eighteen he became rabbi of Urisor, and then of Marosujvar.

After his father's death in 1903 he took the court of Dej and led the yeshiva. His book is the Knesset Yechezkel; his son published it after his death, at Klausenburg in 1931. It shares its name with the book of Rabbi Yechezkel of Radomsk and is a different work.

He died on 22 Kislev 1929 and was buried in Dej. His son Rabbi Yaakov Elimelech took the court.
